Pi Network Faces Shocking Lawsuit Allegations

Pi Network became embroiled in controversy when a United States federal case was leaked online on October 24, 2025, calling out founders Chengdiao Fan, Nicolas Kokkalis, and related entities. The lawsuit accuses the project of securities fraud, accusing it of unfair token distribution, asset retention, excessive centralization, and alleged manipulation through secret sales of approximately 2 billion Pi coins.

The Times of PiNetwork The post also challenged the Pi Core Team to step forward to avoid spreading more fears throughout the ecosystem.

The case is still in its infancy, but community fear is increasing

The lawsuit is still in the preliminary stage as of December 7, 2025. According to court documents, waivers of service have been agreed upon and formal responses will be provided by December 23, so no factual rulings or verdicts have yet been made. However, the doubt has already caused controversy in the international Pi society.

According to defenders, the lawsuit is attacking third-party note markets on exchanges like OKX or Bitget, rather than the Pi Network ecosystem, or Pi Coin tied to the mainnet. However, critics feel that the allegations are in line with long-standing criticism of the Pi Network’s lack of transparency, the late introduction of the mainnet, and the centralized nature of how tokens are supplied.

These accusations are even more damaging as the Pi Network in its 2025 development updates alone has focused on decentralization and growth of public services and therefore this information is even more damaging if not addressed.

Market sentiment turns fragile

Without substantiated evidence to dispel the unresolved allegations, there is still speculation that these accusations could lead to sell-offs in Pi-sensitive markets, particularly in those areas where the project has a high adoption rate. Although there is no open trading of Pi Coin on the mainnet, Global Consensus Value (GCV) community markets and barter systems can be volatile in case of fear of spread.

Strong influencers and analysts across X insist that the Pi Core Team must act urgently and note that a lack of response can only serve to increase distrust and spread misinformation. It is believed that only an open explanation will help avoid long-term reputational damage.
