The performance of the developer community often plays a crucial role in measuring the pulse of the blockchain ecosystem. In particular, over the past month, Ethereum, $BNB Chain and Polygon occupy the leading positions based on developer activity.
As Santiment’s data suggests, other notable names include Arbitrum, Solana, Cosmos, Optimism, Avalanche, Gnosis, and Harmony. However, when it comes to the individual performance of these platforms, developer activity has declined noticeably over the past 30 days.
Ethereum leads blockchains in monthly developer activity with 38.4K events and 904 contributors
Ethereum remains the dominant player in the blockchain industry when it comes to developer activity. In this regard, the blockchain network recorded a total of 38.4K developer activity events during the month. This figure highlights a drop of 17.35%. In addition to this, the number of its contributors to the event also decreased by 11.89%, reaching 904.
Following this, $BNB Chain, which is the second largest blockchain, saw 15.9K events, representing a drop of 29.32%. Likewise, a drop of 14.64% brings the number of its contributors to 478.
Subsequently, Polygon became the 3rd notable blockchain ecosystem in terms of developer activity, with 13.5K events. However, this figure shows a 26.34% drop as well as a 13.32% drop in the number of contributors to 358. Additionally, Arbitrum comes next, accounting for 10.5K developer activity events and 295 contributors. These figures express losses of 27.5% and 8.1% over the month.
Developer activity slows on mid-range blockchain networks
According to Santiment data, Solana, with 10.4K events and 298 contributors, indicates declines of 25.75% and 5.1%. In the same vein, the 6th blockchain based on developer activity, Cosmos, saw drops of 32.04% and 12.9%, reaching 10.2K events and 243 contributors.
Aside from that, Optimism’s 10,100 developer activity events and 284 contributors represent a decline of 28.87% and 8.97% over the month. Additionally, Avalanche, despite becoming the 8th blockchain in terms of developer activity, has seen a notable decline in performance. Its 9,400 events and 246 contributors indicate declines of 26.14% and 14.88%.
Apart from that, Gnosis’s 8.9k events and 203 contributors show declines of 23.97% and 9.78%. Concluding the list, the Harmony blockchain recorded 8.6K events and 217 contributors, expressing declines of 21.87% and 13.2%.
