PayPal’s tools already support brands like Abercrombie & Fitch and Fabletics on platforms like Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, with support coming for ChatGPT, Google Gemini and AI search.

This move aims to boost merchant sales by making their product catalogs visible on AI surfaces.

PayPal partnered with Perplexity last year to allow US users to pay instantly via PayPal or Venmo within its Perplexity Pro chat platform, starting this summer.

The integration supports “agent commerce,” allowing users to purchase products, book travel, or get tickets directly in chat.

PayPal manages payments, shipping, tracking, and billing securely using tokenized wallets and passkey payment flows.

The partnership leverages more than 430 million PayPal accounts and fraud protections, bringing seamless conversational commerce to Perplexity’s robust generative search and discovery platform.
